so, after my second wasted morning in the fucking DMV.  we can't issue you a salvage or any title, the insurance company can only do that.

so here the insurance company gives me a piece of paper, says sign this, they go, here, here is your bike you bought back, here is your check for what's left for the totaling value.  you got 72 hours to goto the dmv and get a junk title.  I ask what about rebuild . but before i can get another word out, im told, you'll have to work with the dmv, we are  done with you, sorry about the bike being totaled.

i goto the dmv who tells me, you can't get a junk title, you have to basically give the bike to the insurance company, who will then re sign it back over to you, as a junker..im telling them  THEY DID, THIS IS THE PIECE OF PAPER THEY GAVE ME TO TELL YOU THAT!!.  dmv. well they didn't do it thru us, go talk to them.

i left a note with the insurance adjuster, call me, we  need to talk, somewhere there seems to be a breakdown here.

this makes no sense,  i am trying to comply but nobody seems to have a correct answer.

Feel free to ask questions if you want.  It was good at keeping wind and rain off me.  But, I'm mostly a fair weather rider, and decided to go with looks on this.

It's always hilarious to me to hear words like "I assume" and all manner of carelessness when discussing 240v power.  The J connection uses PWM signaling in both directions to communicate both the demand and the supply ability, and agree on a setting.  There's more than just some simple resistance.  You certainly can't have both bikes "talking" to the EVSE.

The connector is not powered until the above finishes.  So you don't have arcs when you plug in, people can't be electrocuted, etc.  In a simple cobbled-together splitter, one side would stay live after negotiation, but can't negotiate at all itself.

Applying input power to a J plug should NOT initiate charging without the communication.  I haven't tried it yet, I should.  But if the bikes meet standards, one will not charge.

I recently learned that one of my EVSEs won't stay on its 16a setting and reverts to the full 24a under certain circumstances.  So there are even those quirks.  Also although I successfully rigged my generator to work with an EV, it won't charge the Zero.  That tries to take full power instantly, the generator can't speed up fast enough, and it stops.  Repeat.  The Rivian is fine because it ramps up power.  So I need a switchable load if I want to do it (which I don't, it was a test).

Just building new chargers is not a solution without a strong maintenance incentive. All those shiny new Electrify America chargers seemed like a great solution a few years ago until they started falling apart.

I said Supercharger, not EA.  That's the exact problem between Phoenix and Tucson; EA.

I got a lot of negative feedback when I investigated this, from people who had issues with it. And everyone hated the weight. I am considering the double charger input option because around here there are usually two cables near every spot.

I've always wanted the same.  I've never found a great inexpensive solution.  I am probably going to go the electric route but leave the lock in place also.  Pretty sure that would work.  Then I can unlock it while riding without shutting it off (drink water at a stop light, etc), but also open it with the key when it's off.  The electric route costs maybe $15, or $25 if I go with high end parts.

Part of the enshittification of everything is just taking ad revenue and providing zero support.

I've run a mid-size moto forum for a couple decades.  I've had several offers from the megacorps to buy me out so they can put ads on it, and run it without any effort.  Like this place.  All you can do is report it and move on, don't reply.

We solved our spammer problem with two things.  First I deputized a bunch of well known members to be able to MOVE threads, not even delete.  They are moved to quarantine where they are only seen by admins/mods.  Second, we put two logic problems in the signup forms, and so far, almost none have made it past that.
