Crickets, but had to ask. Looks like I'll be attempting the repair fixing the pins on the bms. The pack is all the way back together so a lot of stripping down ahead of me. I don't really do this fine soldering work, so I'll get help

I want to source the large ribbon in a Gen 2 Monolith pack that connects the cells of the four bricks in parallel and connects the thermistors of three of the packs to the BMS.

The ribbon was damages at the place it connects to the pins of the bms; many of the little parts that grab on to the pins of the bms were bent and broken off. It is conceivable that the ribbon could be soldered to those pins, but I would like to avoid that if possible and hope someone can help be source the part.

Does anyone know who may have a dead monolith pack that I could buy this part from? Any other options to source?

Information about the BMS it will connect to is attached, but I'm thinking all the Gen 2 monolith packs share the same pinout.

Are you near Seattle? I can hook you up with a battery. The 2013 bms design is unique. The BMS are two pieces the second being a FET board that always fails, but if you just bypass it the bms communicated with the mbb and all is happy, the thing is I need to order and hook up an Ant bms that can do 28 cells in series to actually go into protection for all the necessary things. Anyway, I built a pack out of 364 Molicel p42a into the cases of the two bricks for my 2013 MX a year or so ago and since am using later model components and bricks on the bike.

It was the FET Board not being closed and making the Sevcon try to get power from the low power B- and blowing that fuse. Bypassed FET Board as a temporary solution, but will be running with full BMS protections soon. I enjoyed the test ride! Only got here with help from the community! Thanks

I don't think this is the answer to my issue any more, but here are images someone shared with me so if someone is searching Loopback it's here.

Some follow-up: I took out the blanking plug and PT battery, and rode that loop without any trouble.  It ended up being 1400 miles.  Then I took the bike to Team Powersports in Raleigh NC, and they were very helpful.  They found a bad BMS board, and Zero replaced it under warranty.  Now I have the bike back and it and the PT are working well again.  I may keep the blanking plug in my tool roll, though.

Would you please post an image of this plug and any information you could offer about what pins are being jumped if it's not obvious. It may be a long shot, but hoping this can fix the issue that I'm having after building a battery for a 2013 MX that I picked up and am only using one bms. I'm getting a CAN error. Thanks

Reverse is handy on SurRon Storm Bee. BTW if someone has a need for a Sevcon 4/4, a couple bms, a mbb, a contactor from a 2013 Zero MX, I likely will be selling them soon as I plan to ride the chassis on trails and that stuff isn't playing nice with me although seems fully functional.

Your question made me curious so I did a little digging, and came up pretty much completely empty. Found a few old threads on various forums that reference the part and that you can purchase it. Yet I can't find a photo of the thing nor any information about what pins it jumps.

I did find mention there is a setting in the MBB that would also correct the issue. Only problem is changes can only be made by a dealer.

In this case it would be an or. So either the blanking plug or that MBB setting. I've never heard of that setting before, so I can't help you there.

Here are the settings level 3 access offers for the mbb, it isn't very obvious if it's there, but if anyone has ideas...

2013 xu I have, does not need a blanking plug. I do not have one in mine right now. Runs fine .
I believe 2013 is unique is this.

I'm interested in the charger set up for the 2013 MX. I don't know if my onboard charger is missing on this bike or if there wasn't one. Looking at the owner's manual shared with your model and mine in 2013, they seem to make some distinctions about the MX setup that is different from the others, but it isn't clear to me.

I am trying to figure out how to solve things with my 2013 MX to be able to use the original controller and whole system. I am running only one BMS, and I think the errors I am getting are somewhat consistent with the need for a Loopback Blanking Plug.

I only just became aware of the existence of the Loopback Blanking Plug, and would like to figure out which pins are jumped with it and do so, so I hope someone has the device and can figure it out for me. Thank you.

It's starting to feel like the bike may end up loosing a lot of weight with a 72V system and BAC8000 that could make it plenty powerful as a trail bike for Washington State ORV land (especially Walker Valley) that it will be, but I'm still holding out hope that I may be able to get it solved and try the bike as built by Zero

I connected the MBB and the BMS to the computer with TTL to USB thanks to the information I was offered here. Attached is what I get from the MBB when I turn the key and it just keeps going like this. Also attached is the BMS data from the MBB.

I really appreciate any help understanding what may be causing the problem. Thanks.

Some kind soul lead me to this thread a couple days ago, and I was able to connect my pack to the computer and see all kinds of data.

I connecter some thermistors that I believe are working fine with it. I created a connector so I can see the data from the BMS. There was a lot going on, and I didn't look at everything; I'm starting with getting the cells closer to balanced.

Question, I couldn't find with a quick search: Does the 2013 MX come with an onboard charger? Trying to figure out what is missing. I definitely was given the wrong charger with the bike; it has a green rather than brown connector and states 72V. Thanks for any info about the charger for this bike.

I did 14 in series 13 in parallel with Molicel p42a in each box and the boxes in series using one stock Zero BMS from the bike, so 28 groups in series whatever that is named and 54.6Ah. That weird noise may be the norm then I guess; I wasn't too worried about it at the time. I need to figure out what is going on with this thing, so I'll try to get it connected to the computer.
