Energica / Re: A&S Roseville, CA
« on: April 29, 2024, 12:38:05 AM »
What I would like to know is who I should blame, Energica or A&S?  I purchased the bike at A&S, but they say Energica took back their FW updating equipment so Energicas can no longer be serviced at A&S cycles.  That's pretty bad that A&S  cannot service a new bike they sold me 13 months ago with a simple FW update.

Is Energica's service going way downhill?

BTW, in case anybody was wondering why I waited so long, there were two reasons.  At first, the bike was in Reno and a ton of snow over the summit so I could not get the bike here.

By the time the weather got better,  my best friend in Reno was having serious health problems and I had to help him out in many ways. He died last week, so now I have a lot more free time to stay here in Auburn and get things like the bike FW done--I thought.

Next closeted is Livermore, CA. But I hear they cannot do a FW update while waiting, so that involves two people for a 270-mile (435 km)  round trip.

When I got my initial 500 mile service at Calmoto in Livermore a few months ago, they did the FW update as well.  It took about 3-4 hours.  I brought a book and waited across the highway at Starbucks.

Energica / Re: Energica will be Plug & Play at Tesla Superchargers?
« on: March 24, 2024, 11:42:04 PM »
I love being able to just plug in and walk away. I will ride 20 miles past an EA charger with a 10 rating on Plugshare to go to a 6 rated EVgo because I love Autocharge+

Knowing Elon thinks the screens and CC readers are a failure point he will probably lean into the plug and charge, Autocharge model.

I signed up for the Autocharge+ and have used it successfully several times since the start of the year, but last week when I used the EVgo station (at Whole Foods in SF) the Autocharge+ kept showing an error message.  The CC reader would not work, either.  I had to fish out my EVgo RFID card to get it to work.

Just found recent picture of a main stand on the Dutch site https://electricmotorcycles.nl/. Well actually that section is about something else very interesting - decent crash bars!
I have contacted Marchel for more details and will share it here!

Apparently, the Netherlands' Special Enforcement Officers (BOA/Handhaving in Dutch) just received a batch of Experias with these crash bars, and from the photos, center stands as well):

California bicycle riders always seem to be very upset when they are in front of you and you toot your horn to let them know you are behind them and want to pass - especially when they are riding in a group and weaving all over the road.

Energica / Re: Energica for Sale?

It would seem that Apollo's defense about Lightning motorcycles has drifted into Energica's lane...
Actually, it was an Energica employee who recommended I look into financial reporting.  I would be surprised if Energica encouraged the business ethics some of its employees display.

So, was that before or after you said in Reply #71 to Re: Whatever Happened to Lightning Motorcycles,

"As it seems like digging into Lightning's financials is the primary concern of some people, why don't we dig into the financials of other manufacturers?
Did anyone check into the financials for Energica?  Honda?  VW? (They are in debt hell. 196.79B for Sept. 30, 2023). Toyota (Also in debt hell, September 2023: $223.34 B, but they still sell cars).
I keep getting the feeling some people have ulterior motives as opposed to helping others.
Trying to drag a smaller motorcycle manufacturer down looks to be constant.
Is there a reason for this?"

I want LSL SlideWings.  But the link is broken and I'm not finding a source.

I found this:

If you really want an Experia and indeed want a white one...I wonder if you can get either the Bormio Ice or Black models and change out the plastics when they become available..??

I personally wanted the black after I had seen one.... but it wasn't an option when I originally ordered mine...which was the "launch edition" Bormio Ice.

Smithy.
This was suggested to me as an alternative, and maybe even using a vinyl wrap.  At this point, I just want to ride one.  I changed my order to Borimo Ice and was told mid-September.

I asked my dealer for an update, but apparently the white color I ordered is not available yet.  Oh, well.

I know many have already received their Experias, but I'm still waiting (I ordered late 2022).  An excerpt from the Energica newsletter in my inbox today: "Still waiting for the Experia electric sport touring bikes to arrive?  Later this week, the last of the Experia deliveries to fulfill current U.S. Pre-Sale Customer orders will leave the factory.  After this, we’ll start providing demo bikes to our dealers for the autumn."

We don't really like to use the term, "Commiefornia."  We prefer to use, "the Left Coast."  ;D

I use a pinlock insert as well, but for condensation on the outside of the visor, the best solution I have found was the small rubber squeegee on the index finger of my Held gloves.
