I want to use the set command of ov_kickstand

My 2018 DSR sidestand has packed up and I want to update the MBB to avoid the check rather than messing with 2.2k resistor.
It's so frustrating that these things are not readily availble for a bike no longer sold.

I have the level 2 passport ‘tpsreport’ as it allowed me to update my sprokes after my chain conversion and larger diameter tyres.

The warning light wasn’t due to the hack.

I decided to take a long ride 95 miles round trip and the warning light went away not to return. No idea and haven’t looked again at the logs.

I’ve still got to reset my sprocket size and tyre diameter so will be connecting the bike up soon.

Spoke too soon, I was about to go for a ride and noiced the Motor warning light was on.

Looking at the logs I have a
OBD: key cycle pending
but I can see that message in earlier logs, there is nothing else reporting.

I would think the charge tank would use the OBC to close the contactor and to increase your charging by 1.4 KW.  But I do not have the charge tank on my Zeros, so I cannot be sure how it works.

But it seems to me the internal connection to put AC voltage on the OBC is broken somewhere.  But if it doesn't work that way, there is a way to turn on the contactor with the key out with a modification.    I did such to both my Zeros.

You can find that info. starting here.

Thanks Don,
I wrote this reply earlier when I had some questions but have edited it as I bit the bullet and wired it up.
Success !! my charge tank now charges without a powered plug to the obc.

I have wired in a momentary switch to use while I switch on and off the ignition.

The only issue I have discovered is if the EVSE does not negociate a change , I can set the max Amps from my EVSE and if it is below 30A it leave the bike with the dash battery with 00:00 charge time and I need to pull the Low Power B+ fuse.
I'm going to try it out at a commercial charge point later.

Sof ar so good, thank you for pointing me at that hack.

I have designed and 3d printed a replacement side panel just below the seat to hold the switch.

I have a charge tank that when connected to a single phase of EVSE reports that it has connected but only drawers 0.66 A on 240 V. This is reported from the EVSE but on the zero app it is not showing as charging.
however, when I additionally connect the three pin lead the 1.3 kW on board charger, the charge tank starts charging and shows in the app about 6500 to 7200 W .

Any ideas why my charge tank will not start?

So I turned on the bike with the throttle disconnected and then armed the bike , with side stand up and I don’t get the dash error.
It now stays alive enough to download the logs.

Pre disconnecting the throttle I got this on the first turn on of the day
07745     04/29/2023 12:44:00   Sevcon CAN Link Up
 07746     04/29/2023 12:44:00   SEVCON CAN EMCY Frame      Error Code: 0x1000, Error Reg: 0x01 Sevcon Error Code: 0x4884, Data: 0x00 0x00 0x00 0xa0 0x02 , Sequence Fault

Then after disconnecting the throttle I get this
04/29/2023 12:56:14   Sevcon Turned On
 07900     04/29/2023 12:56:15   OBD: key cycle pending
 07901     04/29/2023 12:56:15   Sevcon CAN Link Up
07902     04/29/2023 12:56:15   DEBUG: Sevcon Contactor Drive ON.

Which I assume is normal from earlier logs.

So I think I need a new throttle.

Just a few more points, the contractor does not engage but thats probably an obvious one. I have also done a software (right) button and hardware (left) button on the BMS.
I have had the throttle off and I have checked the socket, I’m going to performa voltage check.

Old school check for air , fuel and spark doesn’t quite cut diagnosing these things  :)

Interesting the dash comes to life when I plug in the 3pin charger.
I have not lost charge ( although I have had a fuse removed) but could the contactor be stuck?

All was good and then it was not.

I noticed that the rear tail light was on with the key removed and not charging , so I pulled the fuse on the side and parked it up for a few week.
Now I’ve come to look at it and I get a pulsing power image on the dash and if I could the flashing error I get a 2-3 which is CAN error.

However when I turn on the bike on and connect via Bluetooth to download the logs it turns off at about 12%.

Any ideas?

Hi Remmie
I know this is a while ago but what chip was on SKPang board as the link is broken and the SKPang feather now has a SN65HVD231 CAN transceiver.
Trouble is that is runs at 16mhz and I beleive the Zero runs at 8Mhz, can you confirm.
I can read data with an MCP2515 set to 500KBPS and 8MHZ but I was hoping on using an esp32 feather.
