I have a '22 SRS/Standard. The options I see in the updated iOS app map to what I see on the Zero Cypher site. This includes prices for items that Zero announced would be free. I got a mail yesterday telling me that they'll tell me what to do on the 19th but that mail didn't say anything about pricing. Guess we'll have to wait until then to see what actually happens.

Updated my '22 SR/S Standard.

The dash shows greyed out "Parking Mode" and "Ext. Range Charging" options. Were those there before?

Is there any chance this update range bumped the Standard? Would make sense to just roll that out in an update versus include it in the Cypher store if there's no charge. I'd be happy to help figure this out if I knew how to do that. Having had the bike for just a few weeks, I don't have a clue.

I just couldn't get the SR/S brakes bled correctly. Maybe pressure overnight would have helped but even though I seemed to be bleeding all the way through and could flow fluid out the lower bleeder with no evidence of air bubbles, the line didn't pressurize and the brakes didn't engage until almost at the grip. I've done lots and lots of bolt-on stuff over years but don't have much experience with brakes let alone ABS brakes. When I got it (back) to the point at which I had the brakes working well enough to get me safely to my dealer, I called it quits and set up an appointment.

Man...you've got quite a stable. Is that your current collection? I don't have the room or the spousal support to keep more than two :)

The 10% extra range on the Premium cost's $1295, so if you take that away from the $3885 that it would cost to upgrade a Standard model you get a $2590 difference, or $490 extra for a Standard upgraded to Premium spec.

Got it. Thanks.

For fun, I attached a mock up of what the new pricing might look like for the SR/S. It assumes:

- Premium owners will get range, charging, parking for free

- Standard owners will pay to close the gaps between Standard and Premium. The after-market surcharge will remain identical to what it was (a total of $490 across the options). This preserves the benefit Premium owners got by purchasing the higher-end trim at time of sale and it also maintains the incentive for dealers who purchased (and may still have in their inventory) Premium trims

- 10% Extended Range goes away as a standalone concept. It's included in Premium and comes with the 20% Extended Range option on Standard. It is reduced to $900 which is what the original pricing imputed  (20% Extended Range [Standard] - 10% Extended Range [Premium])

- Navigation is a $195 add on for both trims

This could be close to what they do. Of course they still have to figure out what to do going forward because it's not clear the market ever wants to deal with this stuff. You could imagine them having to go back to a world in which trim differences are based on hardware differences which is what they clearly wanted to avoid.

Like some others here, I'm trying a Bullet Brake. My brakes were soft before I installed it and they were softer after. Made me wonder if air was getting in so I tried a manual bleed and just managed to make things worse. It's not easy to bleed these brakes through the ABS system - at least not without the right equipment, which I don't have. So I had my shop do a bleed and now the brakes are working great and so is the bullet. I'll be watching it to see if they get worse over time but, for now, I've got great brakes and a functioning parking brake in the bullet.

I'm a 2022 SR/S owner who still only partially understands the trim differences.

Prior to whatever Cypher store changes are coming, would purchasing the following options through the store have made my Standard functionally equivalent to a Premium?

100% Faster Charging : $1495
20% Extended Range : $2195
Heated Grips : $195

I'm confused on whether or not the Premium comes with the added range.

If those three packages are the difference between Standard and Premium, then it seems reasonable for Zero to offer them either as a bundle for $2,100 (the difference between Standard and Premium at time of purchase) or to at least price them such that they total to that amount. Without this change, the total to $3885 which is, frankly, outrageous.

I don't think it would be fair to Premium purchasers to simply turn them on for those of us that paid less for our bikes.

It'll be fun to see how this plays out - it's frankly hard to imagine them finding a path through this that doesn't piss off some group of folks.

If you'd only kept reading down further on the same post you'd have seen the following:

Now, to FURTHER confuse things, Zero scrapped this setup with the model year '22 SR/S and SR/F bikes. Instead of two smaller 3kW chargers, they have introduced what is known as the "Flat 6". This is a single 6kW unit that, on standard edition bikes is set to deliver only 3kW unless you upgrade it to 6kW via a software unlock from the upcoming Cypher Store.

Ahh....sorry for missing that. Wasn't laziness on my part....I think I filtered that out because it was below a long underline and my brain assumed that everything below that line was just a signature.

I don't think my dealer understood this and I certainly didn't until this moment. Thanks very much for the info.

The 2020 SR/S has up to three charging modules. A standard edition has a single 3kW AC unit physically tucked on top of the battery. The Premium edition has a second 3kW unit nestled next to it. The Rapid Charger is a 6kW unit that stacks on top and more or less fills up the 'tank pocket'.

Thanks for explaining this, @Mvetter!

I'm in the US and have a new 2022 SR/S (non Premium).  Do you know whether or not my bike would have come with that second 3kW unit you describe as being nestled next to the battery? The Cypher Store Builder suggests that I'll be able to add 100% Faster Charge to my bike for $1,495 and I'm trying to understand if, in practice, that means that they included that second charger and $1,495 is the cost for unlocking it.

I didn't fully understand this when I bought the bike but as it stands, the bundled L1 charger gets me 1.4kWh. L2 (either at home on my 50A L2 charger or at a ChargePoint station) gets me 3kWh. If that additional charger really is bundled on the bike, am I correct in assuming that if I pay the $1,500, it will have no impact on L1 but would let me get ~6kWh off a L2?

What's the 10% thing do? That's seems even sillier.

Man...the Cypher Store idea didn't bother me all that much when I was considering my purchase but now that I'm looking at a total of $4,295US to unlock everything, I'm pretty turned off by the whole thing.

Thanks for sharing your story! Fascinating to hear how it all played out - very glad it worked out in the end.

I live in the US but I've been to Norway numerous times for both work and play. Such a wonderful country. Any chance you can share the route you rode?

I've been kicking around the idea of this tour for years : https://www.ayresadventures.com/norwegian-midnight-sun/

Not an EV thing.

I'm not thrilled with the idea of a guided / group tour but the idea of a south -> north ride that starts in Oslo and makes its way up to the North Cape is very compelling. You get to walk away from the bikes at the end of the route which means that you don't have to plan a loop. I might end up doing it within the next couple of years with my wife as a pillion.

Hi, folks.

First post. Long-time rider considering a 2023 FXE as a first electric. Purpose would be as a commuter (about 13 miles each way, mostly freeway) which I'd charge nightly.

My dealer is placing an order and thinks the bike will be available by mid August. Is there any info yet on when these things will actually hit dealers?

I'm also curious about a couple of accessories.

The top box - is that a 34 liter Givi? Would appreciate anyone's experience with what helmets fit in that thing. For reference, my current lids are an RF1400 and a Neotec 2. I'd be happy if just the helmet fit.

Parking Brake Accessory Kit - huh? What do you do without that? Does the bike just roll freely? I park on hills. Do you need to buy and use this if you don't want your bike to roll off?

The commuter screen - Anyone have a pic of an FXE with one of these mounted? I'm interested in seeing it mounted including the connection points if anyone's got that handy.

The SAE wire - can't figure out if it's ignition switched or always on.

Thanks, everyone!
