So your bike is currently at Otten in Meppen?
Maybe you already know this, but there appears to be a Netherland-based company specialised in re-working batteries.

According to the website you even get a 2 year warranty on batteries re-worked by them.

Interesting that they rebuilt the battery with 18650 cells. Will remember that.
Kasmtk: sorry to hear about your troubles. Wouldn't it make sense to find a damaged bike? That seems to happen quite often.
But I can understand the feeling that you want the bike gone, I'm getting close to that point too, but I'm to Dutch do take the loss :-) .
