Energica / 2017 EsseEsse9: “Underfined Fault”
« on: October 31, 2022, 11:24:11 PM »
My lovely EsseEsse9 is sick.  Unprovoked it throws an “Undefined Fault” message and won’t ‘Go’.  The Status Screen shows no problems.  There aren’t any faults in the maintenance screen.  I took it to the local Energica dealer and they installed a lot of software updates.  But after I got the bike back home - womp womp - same error.

I have reached out to Energica in San Francisco.  I’ll let you know what Chris Paz reports.

You spent $22k on a bike that requires zero maintenance but balk at $320 for an OEM windscreen?  Brother, I will sell you my OEM windscreen for $100 so I can buy a new one that isn’t cracked.

I, too, lost the rear brake on my SS9-.  I have a garage full of power bleed tools but took it to the dealership - thinking I was helping with a possible recall.  Nope - the charged me $100 to bleed that minuscule 20ml reservoir!  But I ride with maximum regen and rarely touch any brakes except at stop lights.

First mode performed on my SS9 was to swap the usb for a cigar lighter.

Energica / Re: Unstable throttle on Eva, new issue.

Energica is shipping me a new Domino throttle.

UPDATE: I installed the replacement throttle by removing the “tank” side covers, knee guard, and lighted logo center section to expose the wiring harness.  Five nylon wire ties later I reversed the disassembly and was back on the road.  Easy-peasy.

Based upon the lubricant (grease) squirting out, the throttle sent to me was refurbished and they have asked me to return my old core to them.

Exact same symptoms happened to me - like a clock expired - one day good - next day bad.  Watching the green bar jump all over at 90mph was very disturbing
