just got off the phone with a zero rep that informed me that there is a problem with the battery packs getting water into the connectors and that it was causing the battery to seep, thereby shorting out / burning up the battery. zero is very serious about the customer's safety and was planning on driving out to do this at my house. i guess it happened to one bike and they are responding to it with a full recall.

they offered to take my battery and after fixing them they would come back and replace them (thereby leaving me without a bike.)

i suggested that i would be willing to sign a waiver (not to sue them into oblivion) if i can get to keep the bike's battery (and obviously it away from h2o) until they have a replacement battery to swap with it.

i've been just letting my bike sit for a few hours and then i go out and plug it in for an evening charge up. it never goes more than 24 hours without it being topped off. since zero watches this forum, i hope they chime in on a best practices as i think the best solution is just to use it, plug it in when you can and fix anything that goes wrong with it.

Thank you for the post and the feedback on your installations so far.  It's been very helpful already, and it's a relief to finally have this stuff updated for everyone to enjoy.

i have an xu. i have a little feedback to add, ... on the primary accessory page it gives the impression the top box is available for my model. when i go deeper i find out that is not the case.

2103 xu rider here. both the front and back brakes squeal 100% of the time. i've taken off the pads and sanded them down a bit and while it helps for a few stops, it goes back to squealing below 5 mph.

so if anyone else has ideas... i'm have the same issue as lolachampcar.

currently i'm using the pads that was bought with the bike. mostly because i have no money to get nice metal pads. but it looks like it might be something else that is needed to stop the squealing.

Glad to know one of these is on the road here in the Bay Area! I test rode one in Daly City two weeks ago  -- I love the way it handled and performed. I think my "mistake" was also testing the S and DS models. I can't justify the expense right now for any of these -- but I will get one eventually!

funny ... rode a xu in daly city too, but that ride ended in my garage. 

i do enjoy; it's a blast!

i did find a few (very small) issues today while riding (like you can't see the instrument led turn indicators in the daylight and yet that instrument led charge indicator on the fake tank is so bright it will burn a hole through space and time) however, the bike easily got me around town and up the very steep hills here without much of a whimper or much of a hit on the battery.

hmm. that's not good.

i'm still waiting for them to send me my center stand!
