Anyone here found out how to use ABRP for our Energica bikes?
For those who don't know it, https://abetterrouteplanner.com/ is a website which specializes in planning routes for electric vehicles, taking battery size and other vehicle specific info into account.
However, they don't have profiles yet for e-bikes.
I haven't found how I need to fill in my own custom profile in order to have something that approaches our bikes' behaviour, but maybe one of you has?
-
I've never used it but I'll check it out. Since my riding is 99% commuting, I don't need to plan a route around charging stations since I have enough range to complete each leg of my commute (home and office) where I charge up completely before hitting the next leg.
-
They don't have profiles and as far as I can tell, don't support battery sizes of motorcycles.
And it's really hard to estimate wind resistance as well, which ABRP tries to do.

For what it's worth, there's a reasonably good trip planner called EVTripn that I used for a while that supports custom vehicle profiles. They directly support Zero, after I entered my information, and had a back and forth over email about the details once they noticed the customization.

I intend to use this app when I get my bike.
I'll use a vehicle with similar expected range(s) and try it out. My selection will be the Mazda mx-30....(compared to ss9+, ribelle, ego+)
But again need to test it in real conditions

I'd use the Volkswagen e-Golf 36 kWh. It has a range of 130 km (81 mi) so that ought to be correct if you drive around 100 km/h (62 mi/h).
-
130 km on highway is ambitious for Energica. The early e-Up is a good reference. I know that currently the Dutch distributor and drivers are lobbying at Energica to get the Energica data on ABRP. I personally would lobby to get 200 Nm on my 2018 SS9 :P
-
Everyone could create a model on their website by providing some data https://forum.abetterrouteplanner.com/blogs/entry/19-how-to-add-your-car-to-abrp/
I should get my SS9+ in around 2 Weeks and after its warm enough ill try manually collect the data and try to send it in and see if they accept it

Good point. So for example to get an estimate for the SS9, you should use the early VW e-Up, and for the SS9+, you should use the VW e-Golf. Both assuming, say, 10 C (50 F) and 100 kmh (60 mph) Does that sound right?

The race is on! I’m also expecting to get my Ribelle sometime next month. ;)

How do you plan to collect the data? I see they have instructions for ODB-II and Torque Pro (app).

Would be very helpful if owners send an e-mail to Energica. In the past i had some contact with Bo Lincoln from ABRP.
Energica was ignoring his requests to get the right information.
Last few weeks Energica received an amount of requests from Dutch drivers, it would be great if owners here would do the same.

Yeah I did that too. I feel it looks like Energica aren't interested at all (can't imagine why, though).

I noticed that PlugShare now allows me to select my Energica Ego, it also has the + models! It's nice to be able to check in on stations using a vehicle not called, 'Other', and having all the compatible station filters already set.
-
Sklith, Yes I emailed Plugshare about adding the Energica bikes! It took awhile as they are a small company but they did get to it.
-
I created some initial data https://forum.abetterrouteplanner.com/topic/1587-new-bike-energica-eva-esseesse9/?tab=comments#comment-4692
would be cool if someone could also provide some driving data to have some more data and hopefully also to get it more precise

Where in Plugshare are the Energicas?? I see livewire, Zero, and Motorcycles...am i blind?? I did just do the update, but still don't see it...
-
PlugShare has Energica under 'Energica' in the make selector. A Better Route Planner doesn't seem to have Energica in this version.

Yes one would think it was that simple. It's not showing in mine after an update. Might kill it and reload the app...

There are different uis for different platforms... Were you trying logging in on a PC?

I was going to recommend PlugShare as well, as their trip planning feature allows you to manually adjust ranges. It doesn't account for terrain/weather variation but it's something. I've played around with it a few times and it has a few minor funky UX things but nothing that truly bothered me.

I don't see Energica listed either.

For PlugShare, log in via your Desktop browser to make this change, or force your mobile browser to view the desktop site.
It just works better for setting up the vehicles.

I always do and never saw Energica listed anywhere there. I have looked several times.
BTW, you can see my Energica in almost any charge station (CCS or J1772) within 100 miles or so from here as part of my check-ins. I usually upload photos. Last was the outlet in Genoa, NV (oldest town in NV) and the CCS charge station in Garnerville, NV in the last few days.
Edit: I just looked again and found Energica. It is NOT listed under "motorcycles" but listed under the cars. That is why I never noticed it. I guess those people at Plugshare don't know that the Energica is a motorcycle.
I now have all four of my EVs listed there on Plugshare, thanks!

I have logged into PlugShare on Safari, Chrome, Firefox, and Opera. Clicked on [Zero S]>Manage Vehicles>Add Vehicle and ever single one offers Energica as a saved vehicle.
I can't say about their mobile app, but the webpages all load fine as the desktop version.

some weird voodoo shit is going on...i log in from duckduckgo and it's the same as my phone and also on the laptop using Firefox...NO ENERGICA. I've done the update, reloaded the app, and it refuses to show. I assume it's in the list for you guys after "e.GO" as all vehicles are in alphabetical order. But every OTHER bike is there, which is pretty frustrating. Might just give up, but there must be some logical explanation?
Sony ZX1 Android phone.

Hmm. e.Go is not on PlugShare or ABRP for me.

Looks like I am up to the limit of four EVs on Plugshare. And I have exactly four, so that works for me.
But I find it in this order for Energica:
Chrysler
Coda
Energica
Fiat
Do NOT look under "motorcycles" for Energica. Only Zero is listed under "motorcycles."
They don't even know that the HD Livewire is a motorcycle.
-Don- Reno, NV

'Motorcycles' isn't an item on the web version.
-Crissa
-
Yeah I never heard of that, and wonder if it's some glitch in the matrix and it should be Energica? But still no luck, so I sent a bug report to Plugshare. We'll see what happens...

I'd say make sure you're using the desktop site to update your vehicles, and then they'll load properly in the other versions of the tool.
Perhaps your browser has cached it somehow? Because even on my cellphone I see Energica.

Then how do I know which version I am using? I only look at Plugshare on my destop computers.

Hopefully I'll hear from Plugshare and find out what's going on. Same on my wife's phone too, Energica just isn't listed :(

yeah mate, that's the frustrating part about it...i know it's possible on most people's phones and computers so was really flummoxed as to why it wasn't working for me. Just goes from Coda to e.GO to Fiat...no other options between there or anywhere else for Energica.
BUT I FIGURED IT OUT!!! Well at least I tried something and it worked, but it's lame. I'm using firefox, which apparently is the issue. I was using duckduckgo on the phone, which is another issue. It seems that shitty CHROME, the main corporate browser, works just fine. So at least the issue isn't me or my limited mental capacity, but actually that I don't use the wealthiest, most metadata-collecting, privacy-abusing, bloatware and spyware prone Chrome Browser! There may be another shitty browser that allows it to work, but I just changed over on someone else's chrome browser and it worked. There are LOTS of other vehicle brands that turned up when I did...so do with that information what you must.
As a side note, all that frustration just to have the text read 'Energica Eva 107' and i still just get a generic car under a cover for the main pic lol

As of now, you can select Energica as a "car model" in ABRP. It has support for:
Successfully tested it on the browser, I don't use the app.

I noticed the change there a few months ago. Now I can select which bike I am charging in the check-ins, unlike before.

Not sure what you mean, but the vehicle brand "Energica" is new and wasn't there last week...

They don't roll menu items out at the same time on all platforms. Which has led to some confusion here before.

I have been using Energiga as one of my selections on Plugshare for months.
See my check-in here for July 27 (https://www.plugshare.com/location/64737)you will see "Energica" . What made you think it has only been a week?
But ignore the 6.3 KW charge. That must have been my wishful thinking! ;D
Edit: Disregard it all, I only use Plugshare.

Yep. I always do my check-ins on a Windows 10 computer after I get home. I cannot message anybody on Plugshare, I didn't even know that was possible until somebody messaged me. That only works on the Android and Apple Tablets, not with "real" computers. But if they message me on Plugshare, I can reply. I just cannot tap on a check-in name to reply, as I don't have a touchscreen and a mouse click will not work in it's place.
If there is a way to do it with Win-10, I would like to know how it's done.
For a while, I could not upload photos, but the tablets could. I would get "API Error". Now I can also upload photos, but it is a lot slower than it used to be to do a photo upload.

I'm not sure how you guys made this thread about Plugshare, but ABRP == A Better Router Planner :)

I hate to see the letters ABRP. It reminds me too much of AARP. ::)

Does anyone know if there is a way to get live data from the Energica into ABRP via BLE or a BT OBD2 dongle?
-
If you google abrp obd2, you should get some links to abrp's forum about obd2 integration. Sadly I am work right now and can't access abrp sites due to firewall restrictions. It seems like it might be possible though.
