Title: Something a bit overstyled
Post by: Richard230 on November 18, 2019, 08:46:17 PM
Interesting styling, but a bit overdone for my taste. Pierre Terblanche strikes again:

He was hired by Curtiss, and you can DEFINITELY see his influence in their new models too.

All the shapes seem angled wrong.  It looks to me something that won't perform up to those specs...

...But I do want that helmet ^-^

I agree that this is over-styled, and possibly very hard on the rider ergonomically. If that's the same designer as for Curtiss, at least this looks likely to cause less catastrophic injury to the rider in case of a get-off.

Regarding the range claim of 200km (124mi), there doesn't appear to be sufficient battery volume possible to support that, even at city speeds.

I wish we could see more bikes with a focus on substance rather than flash. The features don't matter if you're not going to ride enough to appreciate them.

What HE said!!

I read elsewhere that the battery is 4.75 kWh, so the "estimated range" is just a pathetic joke. And they're talking about $80,000.

Just an expensive design exercise, nothing more.

If I extended a little more than polite generosity, it is possible that there's some kind of bait-and-switch, where the bike they're describing producing is not what they're showing.

I admit I've made annoyed comments on the FB posts of EV journalistic entities that describe this and other EICMA prototypes with not much critical thinking.

Hey, I'd be ecstatic if they proved me wrong!

I love it when someone proves me wrong. It means they proved something, so now we know for sure. Still waiting on about a bajillion "revolutionary" battery technologies, however.

My opinion is that bikes like that are designed to be displayed in industrial art museums and not for everyday riding.

I'm okay with pieces of art being made.

But I wish they wouldn't be allowed to give these specs based upon wishful thinking.  I like actual, available things; not possible, promised things.
