I saw this on Transport Evolved.  You can go to the 2:40 mark for the admittedly short segment or watch the whole video for some nice EV news.  Spoiler, it has a left side regen lever.  Just shows once again they're watching us.   ;)

The latest news is that Kawasaki has developed their electric motorcycle as a technology demonstrator, but apparently has no plans to market the bike, or any electric motorcycle in the near future:

Im thinking we will have to wait until solid state battery's come be before the conservative (entrenched?) companies jump in.

Thanks ESokoloff,  I've tried to keep up with Toyota's progress with their solid state batteries since they first reported the very large investment in the technology.  It should be the final nail to seal the coffin of ICE's future.

As for the Kawasaki bike, as the video pointed out they have been working on the project for years now.  I doubt they waste that time and money just for a show/track bike.  My guess would be a 2021 release.

Did you notice that the Kawasaki EV only has a 13.5 HP (continuous) motor?  I think this was an after-hours project by some of their engineers and was displayed in Europe for some favorable press.  If Kawasaki really wanted to they could develop a real market-crusher along the lines of their supercharged ICE model.  But I don't see this as a precursor to Kawasaki entering the consumer EV market. I remained convinced that the major manufacturers will not enter the EV market until it grows large enough for them to make a profit and that may be years away.  (Just ask H-D how the LiveWire penciled out next year after a year of sales.)
