Maybe you might know what sort of regulations these studies might lead to. I don't have clue. EU regulations tend to give me a headache. ::) I have no idea how vehicle manufacturers manage to figure them out and put the requirements into production. But here is the latest news:

Quick read... they're trying to prove the combined braking system actually saves from collisions, which here in the states we could not prove, hence abs not being required.
Not sure how they'll prove it.

The second article says this, which might be of interest to someone:
It is obvious that all OBD requirements related to emission control systems and emission thresholds do not apply to electric L-category vehicles. The requirement to report the triggering of any operating mode, which significantly reduces engine torque would be applicable. Furthermore, there are relevant requirements related to access to OBD information, a connection interface, reporting on powertrain faults leading to significantly reduced torque and RMI.
Is an "L-category" vehicle and electric motorcycle or a learner motorcycle? And how many people here would like to access the bike's MBB with an OBD connection?

I would love to! There are guys who set up the ODB plugs to control lighting and smart systems that aren't in the car standard. And that's pretty cool.
We can get a bunch of this through Bluetooth but ODB is already a standard.

Zero’s OBD-II plug is not standard except in the loose sense of not violating the standard. No off the shelf plug will work, and there’s no power from the port on 2017+ year models to power a Bluetooth antenna.
The SR/F functionality here is as yet unreported.

Well, getting power under the seat isn't so hard, tho I don't know where I'd pull the (very pure) 5v that the Bluetooth antenna needs. Prolly have to tie in a lipstick or something.
