Has anyone tried this?
How much stronger is the wider belt compared to the thin one?
On paper, looks to be about 20%.

In reality, it looks better than 20%. Compare to the wider belts on on the 2018 DS or DSR or the wider belt on the 2018 SR. Or later.
The SR/F doesn't count as it has even a wider belt than any of the earlier models.

In reality, ..............
In reality
The OEM Zero Motorcycles Drive Belt.
The 220T 14mm belt fits 2013 - 2016 year models Zero S, SR, DS, DSR, FX and FXS
The larger 158T 17mm belt fits 2017 - 2019 year model Zeros fitted with the wider belt.

Also the wider belt (17mm as its part of the afford mentioned kit) is exactly 21.428571428571428571428571428571428571% wider then the stock 14mm.
I think "about" was/is close enough for this discussion.

So has anyone tried this? Super old post but so is my 2015 DS. I'd consider buying a used one if I can find one and if there are reports that they work well.

Shortly after starting this thread I purchased a kit from Luna.
That was 6 years ago & I’ve yet to install it & likely never well as I’ve slowed down considerably & no longer feel the need of a wider belt to achieve reasonable belt longevity.
Contact me if you’re interested in purchasing my kit.
