For folks that may be in the Sacramento area, a couple of us are planning an informal meet and greet at 8465 Elk Grove Blvd, Elk Grove, CA 95758 on August 10th at 10am.
It'll mainly be an introduction and a chance to check out each other's electric bikes. Swap bikes for a little bit and check out different models. We'll probably do lunch somewhere in Sacramento proper that has multiple chargers available before heading our separate ways.
Hope to see a few other folks there...

I'd love to meet up

I will be there also.
There is a J1772 charge station a few miles east down the same road, but only one. That could be a problem. There are many places to charge in Sacramento, however.
IMO, all shops that sell electric bikes should have J-1772 charge stations right on their lot. There's really no excuse to not have such, IMO.

Sweet, we won't be competing for the J plug, I'm sure it will be available for you as I only use CCS, and I'll be done in 20 min.

I just checked Plugshare in it looks like they now have BOTH J1772 and CCS at the WalMart at:
8465 Elk Grove Blvd, Elk Grove, CA 95758.
And has several check-ins already. Even has places to dine nearby.
That could be a much better place for us to all meet!

I don't have a hot date on that day! I can wait for my 6.3 KWs worth of chargers to recharge back up my 16.3 KWH battery-- as I am having lunch, of course!
IMO, electric cycles teach us patience. Food comes late, you get a better charge. City traffic gives better range. So does slowing down.
BTW, what type of bike will you be riding that has CCS?

Well yeah, you don't have an Energica yet ;)

I’m cool with shifting the meetup to the WalMart chargers instead of EGPS. Let me know if that’s what folks want and I’ll update my post/invite on another forum as well.
-
Probably best for the people with only J1772.

I most likely will have if I still lived in the SF area. And I still may take a drive to Mt. View to buy one. It will probably be the only one in Nevada for a while.
I figure trying to get service on it from here, cannot be any worse than that for my Zeros, even with a Zero dealer just a few miles away.

Makes no difference to me, as I figure we can meet at EGPS and then go to the Walmart chargers or wherever.

I'm within range of this though it's a summer workday for me. Added date to topic title. ;)

That can change on the 13th of this month. I just now booked a room in Mt. View for that date.
I will head for Auburn this coming Monday. On my SR, of course.

I say we shift the meet up location to that Wal-Mart, with more charging stations available and more eating options I think that’ll make better sense than Elk Grove Power Sports.

Fine with me, let's make that WalMart our place to meet. I think that could also be best as we can be charging as we're waiting for the others to show up, those who need the longest charge can show up extra early, etc.
So let's all meet at the WalMart charging stations at:
8465 Elk Grove Blvd, Elk Grove, CA 95758 on August 10th at 10am.

I just noticed that your first message here still has EGPS. Perhaps you should edit that message.
C U Saturday!

Done, thanks.

Today, since I decided to ride to EGPS to make an appointment for my Zero FW updates and commissioning, I also went to the WalMart that we are going to meet at.
That is the most hidden WalMart I have ever seen. Easy to drive pass as there is no WalMart in sight. But there are a few signs. It's on the NW corner right on Elk Grove Blvd at Hwy99, just go into that small outdoor mall and follow the signs to the WalMart, you will NOT see it until you are almost in front of this WalMart.
Anyway, there is one J1772 that is NOT working. The screen just says "not available" with nobody trying to use it.
There are also five CCS chargers and one Chademo that all seem to be fine. Nobody using any of them, but they seem to be online and working by the screen displays.
The J1772 not working is not an issue to me. There is a nice shady J1772 station at the Walgreens just two miles away. Others nearby as well. Besides all that, I can do the entire round trip on a single charge, the slow way I go down there.
I wonder if there is any chance that J1772 will be on-line by Saturday. But it really doesn't matter as I can charge up before or after we meet or even do the entire trip on a single charge. I will decide by what time it is when I start to get near there. Looks like Saturday will be a nice fairly cool day in Elk Grove, a high of only 84°F.
So I will still be there at the Walmart by the J1772 charge station, if it's dead or alive.
Here are a few photos, one of the message on the J1772 station, my bike at the dead charger, and the WalGreens two miles away where I topped up my charge so I could race home on the freeway.

Thanks for scouting out the area!

Thanks for scouting out the area!
I forgot to mention that if you come down on Hwy 99 SB, this Wal*Mart should be in the clear. It is right next to the freeway, but I didn't take the freeway. It's well hidden from Elk Grove Blvd, but not from HWY 99.

I told Brandon but he was not able to respond so I'll just mention that unless a miracle occurs he will not be at this event.

TBH, I did not expect him to show up. We were supposed to meet once before as well.
Anyway, I will be leaving in a few minutes. I will charge a couple of times on the way down as I don't think the J1772 at WalMart will be working and I will be going a rather slow way.

Wondering if these are regular meetings. I'm a new Zero owner, and new to this website. And I'm kicking myself for not paying closer attention here. I met a couple of guys at EGMS when I took a test drive, and would love to see them again. Thanks.
-
Nothing regular. Last weekend was my first attempt to put something together. If folks can chime in here with some availability dates I’ll “organize†another one.

Any chance that was Eric and me, almost a year ago, each on our Zeros? We met somebody there who came in a cage who was thinking about buying a Zero and we let him sit on each of our bikes to feel the difference between the models. Eric had a 2016 Zero DS and I was there on my 2017 red Zero SR. Eric uses the name "Shadow" here, the forum moderator.

Yup, that was me Don. Finally got my bike, and now finding my way on this forum. I found the button that will keep me informed about event postings, so next time I can join you guys for lunch or whatever. Sorry I missed last weekend.
-
What button keeps you notified? I rely on Morgan telling me I need to check something.

The notify button at the top and bottom of this content. You posted, I was notified.
