Title: No Aux charging port on SR/F?
Post by: dukecola on July 30, 2019, 07:53:56 PM
Is it true zero eliminated this port?  I'm just thinking about future, if I got a SR/F it would be with power tank. This means 6k charging is all that one could do. Could a diginow be added to controller?

Perhaps you will be able to run your own wires, like I did to my SR (non /F). I charge my SR at 8.3 KW and could do even more. See my reply number 16 here. (http://electricmotorcycleforum.com/boards/index.php?topic=9053.msg80250#msg80250)

There’s no evidence of an accessory charging port on the SR/F.

I’d be inclined to buy Zero’s rapid charge modules separately and see about mounting them in an enclosure with a custom cable harness, but that’s pure speculation. Mainly, I’d want to see a solution that stands a chance of better OEM support, while also getting good power to weight ratios and ingress protection.

We’d need to see a careful inspection of the power cable runs on the SR/F to decide where the best unauthorized tap points might be. The controller is as before a reasonable candidate but its location might be hard to route to.
