Terry Hershner posted this on the Zero owners FB page. :
Holy Crap you guys, I just found out the motorcyclist this article is talking about was Brian T. Rice on his 2016 Zero DSR! He apparently had to have major surgery on his face and an emergency tracheotomy on scene in order to breathe.
Update: He was airlifted to Santa Clara Hospital ICU Friday afternoon. He is alive and can write to communicate but is unable to talk. I friended his GF Eli on FB and messaged her. All he has been able to write on a piece of paper to her is "I thought they were on the ground" meaning the powerlines.
Here is the article:

We all hope for a full and quick recovery for Brian.

I had heard about the clotheslining but had no idea, thanks for the update. What a terrible turn of events.
Brian, best wishes and may you have a swift recovery.
It's quite ironic that an electric power line should not only take down an electric motorcycle rider, but also one so important to our community.

Mend proper & fast Brian.

What a bummer! This forum won't be quite the same until Brian is back. Sure hope that is soon!
