Tragic for the series. Good to hear there were no injuries.

This will be all over the ICE news as a reason to never race electrics. I hate to say it, but I hope they discover it was arson by a disgruntled worker or ICE fan. If it was runaway heat buildup from charging ... Oy.

Yeah, my thoughts exactly.  Also, not a good idea to have all of the bikes in ONE place... but the alternative would be AWFULLY expensive (having multiple charging stations scattered all over the paddock).

Update:  No bikes were charging at the time of the fire:

First race canceled; revised calendar coming out soon.

Huge shame supper bummed out right now. The factory will rebuild, on with the show.

On a lighter note the test fottage from the event looked really good, lots of teams were really excited.

Causing me second thoughts about keeping a Emotorcycle in my garage. A better place might be the shed out back.

It wasn't the bikes that caused the fire.

Everyone can have problems with electricity - even the British.   ;D

Any truth in the rumour that someone from Zero was seen nearby with a box of matches and 18 SR/Fs in the back of a truck?

(Too soon?)

I still think it was a Lucas charger that shorted out.   :(

First race will now take place in Germany.  There will be two double-headers on the calendar as well so as to keep the number of races the same as originally planned.
