Just got my first EV, a 2018FX. Took a demo ride this summer and was blown away how fun this bike was. Sold a couple of ICE bikes and bought that same demo bike. Still can’t get over what a different experience this is than the last 40yrs of riding ICE bikes. Love the torque, the quietness, riding wheelies completely unnoticed.... Just great.

Congratulations! I test rode the FX two years ago and was instantly smitten. I still feel the same way. My ICE bikes and car don't see much use. I wonder how all my friends haven't yet gotten one, even if they would have to mortgage their houses. And I almost don't mind all the speed humps going in around here because they can be mildly entertaining. :)

Congrats and welcome! Same thing happened to me, 2 years ago I saw something on a local KTM dealer's FB page about an electric bike demo day (I love demo days anyways, who doesnt like riding different bikes??) and thought they make these?! I went up and rode a FXS and SR not expecting much and was blown away! My friend and I could clearly talk at stoplights, who knew we'd think that was nice. I went into instant save mode and procured a FX about 3 months ago, haven't really wanted to touch any one of my other 3 ICE bikes since. I've gotten spoiled.. no starting or warming up the bike (especially in winter), easy low speed maneuvering and not using the clutch in traffic all added up. I'm excited for summer.

Sold my ICE 3 months after the purchase of a 2013DS.
And I really, really liked the Moto Guzzi California 1100, was already a poster on my room from 16y old......says enough I think.

Whomever said it was like a magic carpet was spot on. The ride truly cant compare to an ICE bike.
No noise, no distractions, like shifting and clutch, just instant massive torque and the wind.
I love watching first time riders giggle like girls.
What really tells is when you get back on an ICE bike and feel like you are on a dinosaur steam engine.

I reckon I can raise the ante a bit: I ordered my FX never ridden, site unseen. I had to pay the full price upfront, plus a whole lot more for god-knows-what mark-up and taxes. The importers "Cayenne Racing" South Africa assured me it would arrive within 6-8 weeks. After 15 weeks I asked them what assurance I had that the bike was coming and that they weren't going to go bankrupt before that. They laughed at me. They said the delays were due to importing potentially explosive batteries. It took 16 weeks and a few days. 2 weeks later Cayenne Racing went bankrupt.
But that doesn't matter, I have the bike and almost loathe riding my ICE bikes. Now I have to somehow import a DSR for longer rides and a bit more madness. Once bitten you're hooked.
