Title: California is at it again
Post by: Richard230 on October 21, 2018, 04:19:36 AM
I visited my local BMW shop today and they were required to place the attached warning card on every one of their motorcycles, both new and used.  Even the electric BMW scooters. :o  I hope that made some California state regulator happy.  ::)  What will be next?  The mind boggles.

That was done by a CA vote, many years ago. I know, because I then was registered to vote in CA and I was stupid enough to vote in favor of  these warnings on everything.

It's one of the many times I later wished I could take my vote back. I had no idea it would go so far. I first realized it when I was out backpacking and the freeze dried meal said to use boiling water and then the warning "WARNING:Boiling water can cause burns".

I have a friend who owns a motor home and just bought a sun shield for his windshield. He told me that it came with a warning sticker on the cover telling the owner not to drive the vehicle with the cover placed over the windshield.  :o

Either that or liability lawyers and law suits are out of control in California.  :o

You know, I get prop 65 warnings with purchases of steel bar stock because of the presence of cobalt and chromium.  smh This is the problem with having voters vote on what amounts to detailed regulatory legislation.  Mistakes happen and it gets absurd.  I would rather leave decisions like that one to professional legislators who can with research staffers helping them craft the legislation.
