Title: Alta Motors biting the dust?

Nothing official yet, but this doesn't look good...
Alta Motors reportedly shutting down production (https://electrek.co/2018/10/18/alta-motors-closing-operations/)

I wasn't aware that the H-D investment had definitely fallen through. Apparently, they've sold 1K bikes in 2018, which doesn't look inherently bad to me.
Problem is, manufacturing vehicles requires very deep pockets.

I'd suggest the problem was the "new" management that deposed 6 years of passionate leadership and slow growth with hubris and ultimately a failed partnership attempt with Harley Davidson.  They're down but not out.  ALTA has funds.
