It has taken a while, however Vespa is finally putting their Electtrica scooter into production. But knowing Vespa and looking at the Electtrica's bling, I bet it is going to have a "premium" price and likely not a lot of performance or range. However it will really look nice with a hot Italian girl sitting on the seat. ;D https://electricmotorcycles.news/vespa-elettrica-to-go-into-production-in-september-2018/

Totally agree with your assessment.... The Italians sure know how to make things look right though.... If I were to buy a scooter (unlikely) the Vespa would be my first stop.... Beautiful design.... Always pricey.... Have you ever noticed that all things Italian like shoes, gloves, clothing always look right and fit right????

And are always displayed with a pretty girl or two on or in the product. ;)

At least in the case of Vespa, I’ve found that the audience is thankfully other women who want to be that rider instead of men who want to … accompany that model.

Now this electric Vespa is apparently going to be marketed in the U.S. But I am not sure if a 2 kW motor is going to cut it here though, especially at Vespa's typically premium prices.

Opt for the hybrid Elettrica X, and you get an onboard generator for double the range.

Or double the trouble. ;)

They better bring some to SF, see if 2KW can cut it on the hills.
Those Genze scooters in the Scoot network, with 4kw hub motors, do an OK job on the hills.
