Title: Faster charging for Energica's
Post by: ultrarnr on July 18, 2018, 06:03:36 AM
EVSEadpters has a 10kw portable CCS charger that plugs into a NEMA 14-50 or with an adapter a J1772. It isn't light (44 lbs) and it isn't cheap ($3399.00) but it means you can charge 3 times as fast from a NEMA 14-50 compared to using a standard EVSE that plugs into a NEMA 14-50 and the 3kw L2 charger. If you plug into a standard J1772 you should be able to at least cut your charging time in half.

Will it work with a Nissan Leaf?
edit:
dammit.. I looked closer.. 20A output limit.. so even at a max voltage of 398, thats only 7.9kw... stock charger is already 6.6kw. they even say in there, that vehicles with 6kw chargers wont see much improvement.
what I need is one that can support 12kw.. (240v @50a)

As long as the Leaf has a DCFC port it will.
