2018 S 7.2
Seems to run OK, just a flashing red light.
I’m a long way from the dealer for a week but want to ride the moto.
Anyone have experience with this code? Is the risk of the moto being shut down while riding real or just theoretical?
Thanks

I jiggled the wire at the sensor and the light went out.
Works for me.

I have a report that the part number is separately confirmed so might update it with more certainty shortly.
Be very careful with the electrical side of that sensor for reasons cited in that article; don't work on it while the bike is even keyed on. Make sure it's seated and clean.

I used this kickstand bypass switch for about 3 weeks. It worked fine:

Then I bought a replacement sensor for a 2015 KTM 1290 Super Duke R Sidestand Sensor Kickstand Switch. I've been using it for about a month with no problems. Got it on ebay.

This worked in the first two days I was getting the error... Could ride fine after that untill I parked the bike for long periods while charging... Then the error got back again.

When that error started I used to jiggle the sensor and wires and the error would flicker between the warning signed and the ok to ride .... Sometimes shooting down the bike at lower speeds in the first seconds I attempted to ride .. then it would not happen untill I share the bike again for long periods. (Happened for 2 days and now the error is permanent no matter what I do)
