Hi all,
I have been building a charger with 2 x Eltek flatpack 2 HE with the guidance from this forum.
So far I have collected the parts and build the charger and the charger gives 114,2 Volt (2 x 57,1).
The only thing that I have not installed are the extra reverse current blocking diodes. (i have the ixys dsa70c150hb)
Can someone tell me how to install / connect them in de flatpacks ?
I have connected the charger to the zero but as soon as I switch the bike on, the display goes blank.
Then I have to switch the bike off, disconnect the charger, here after I can use the bike normal again.
Is this behavour normal or is there someting wrong ?

This behavior is *NOT* normal. I know nothing about the diodes nor their function, but it's possible you're dragging a voltage down the way you've made the connection. Sorry, but I don't know how to guide you beyond that.

Have you checked the output voltage of the chargers?

I have programmed the chargers at 57,1 volt and in series it should give me 114,2 volt.
I measure 114,2 volts, so I guess that would be correct.

Do you have the connection to the charge signal wire in the Anderson plug? If not you can’t charge.

You can, but you need to key the bike on.

I don't have the flatpack but for my charge setup (TSM 2500 x 2) I follow this order, 1plug in onboard or key bike on, listen for the contactor to close 2- plug aux charger in then turn it on, either leaving the key on or the onboard charger going will keep the contactor closed, as with everything you do so at your own risk

Oke I will try to plugin the onboard first and when it is charging plugin the charger and switch them on.
Hopefully it will work without any problems.

So here is a little update.
With the bike keyed off I pluged all 3 power connectors in, and switched them on at the same time.
Now the contacted closes en the fast charging begins.
I tried some other sequences but that doesn't seem to work very well.
Now I have to go drain my battery and see how a charge station feels about it ;D

Maybe one of the EE types can chime in on this but it sounds a little bit sketchy to have the contactor loaded with power when it closes, sounds like a recipe for a welding moment, I still think powering the key first (or onboard) then starting the eltek is the safest way

Yes, I'm sure Zero will take quite an issue if there's a service request on your bike due to electrical transients. Aside from contactor damage, the BMS precharge circuit is not protected from this condition, and you could burn out the precharge circuit so that the BMS will never close the contactor safely.
So, always get the BMS to close the contactor before initiating charging. The onboard charger does this, and DigiNow v2.5 does this by replacing the onboard charger at the very same plug it uses and sending the same or similar message sequences.

Eltek flatpack units and the like are fine stationary chargers, but they have no programming to work with a Zero, so you'll have to implement the correct usage of the charger most of the time yourself, and need to do your homework to avoid a warranty issue.
