There is another thread on this site where a guy added some threaded rod to the axles and installed rubber skateboard wheels, but I wasn't able to find the thread.  Maybe someone else will chime in with a link.

Derlin sliders tend to work better than the polyurathane wheels... you can get cheap ones on ebay.
