Yesterday, my daughter visited a donut shop in downtown San Rafael, CA, where she parked at a metered parking space without paying, figuring that she could get in and out of the shop before the meter maid arrived. She should have known that she wasn't going to move fast enough to beat a cop at a donut shop. When she came out with a half dozen donuts, she found the maid fingering his ticket smart phone app. Just as she was thinking of an excuse - such as I was sure that "I could get away with it" or that "she had no idea cops could move so fast". ::) The maid asked what kind of motorcycle she was riding and she responded that it was an electric Zero. The fellow then told her that he couldn't give her a parking ticket because the Zero brand wasn't in his computer and therefore he couldn't write the ticket. "Tough luck", she said as she got on her bike and quietly rode off, chuckling all the way home. ;D

That is awesome!
If only we could be so lucky at toll plazas! ::)

How much does a parking ticket cost?
ZERO
bwahahaha!!!!

Great story!
Unfortunately having a Zero didn't help when the coppers stopped me for crossing a white line. I don't think my attitude helped either now I think of it...

Electric bikes park free in most London bike bays where they now charge for ice bikes.
I got stopped for speeding on my FXS a while ago. The cop suggested ignoring my speed if I accepted the lesser offence of a small number plate without arguing. I took the deal. He didn't even notice the bike was electric until I said "at least you can't do me for a loud pipe too".

Nice. What also works is, "Any way I can pay the fine right here" Said as she opens the donut box

Awsome! ;)

SFMTA has no trouble ticketing Zeros.
They have more experience with exotic makes, I guess, they program their handhelds to let them type in the make! And indeed when they couldn't read "vectrix" on my vectrix, they gave me a ticket for it anyway.

I only got pulled over once for a random breath test, the cops and me had a lengthy chat about my bike, they seemed very impressed.
