Title: Charge Tank - where to store the cable?
Post by: kashography on June 26, 2017, 12:18:20 PM
When you install the Charge Tank you lose the storage in the tank region. I knew that, and it's nice to have the charge tank with you all the time. But i forgot to think about the cable.. It's pretty big and i have to take the GIVI-box or a Backpack with me when i consider to charge "fast", what irrelevates the point of having the chargetank always installed to charge spontaneously.
For little things I installed two 0.8l bags on the sides (on the battery, between fairing and frame. I will upload an photo some time). But what i really would love, is a good way to always have the (for europe) Typ2 Mennekes Cable with me.

has anyone figured out a good Solution?

I would keep it in a top box at all times yes.  I keep other cords in my top box, but in the states and lots of other places the charge station has it's own cord so the charge tank doesn't need anything else.  I thought it to be very strange Europe did this.  It's like they were trying to solve a problem that wasn't a problem.

Yeah its a bit strange. There are several stations with cable attached too, but i cant use them because the charge tank has typ1 j1772 and in europe typ2 mennekes is standard. So i would need an adapter cable for this what costs awesome 350$ :o

I mostly do not use the charge tank because i dont drive mlre than 120 miles on an normal driving day. So always carrying a top box only for the cable is no option for me
