Title: DS 2017 -- In need of mudguard

I've just started riding my 2017 DS, and I have the Zero OEM mud guard. And that is about as useful as tits on a bull. Why does it have a hole in the middle? My back is covered in dirt and water.

I've searched the forum and found some threads, but the only thing I've seen that looks like it can be fitted on without manufacturing things, is this:

Well, now I feel silly. I ordered my bike with the rain guard, and thought that thing with the hole was the rain guard. But it was pointed out to me that the thing with the hole is not the rain guard:) Time to call the dealer tomorrow.

I think you are looking at the motorcycle rear bumper guard, the tail part which has license plate and turn signals?  There is a kit made to remove this piece:

What you want I think is the wheel fender, which is something Zero sells as part number #10-08093 upgrade:

I pulled the rear assembly apart and made a plastic insert in the same mat plastic that blocks the hole. Simple, barely noticeable and stops most of the muck flying up.

Acerbis is a good brand. I assume this would only work with a fender eliminator installed, but it seems worth indexing on the wiki.
