Anybody knows at what angle the footpegs on the S/SR start hitting the ground?
Has anybody changed the footpegs? Position or height?

Not certain on the angle but they definitely scrape before you get close to 40 degrees. The footpegs really are very low (and forward).
I had some custom alloy brackets made which raised them up and back quite a lot. I think they moved back maybe 15cm and raised them 10-12cm. No more scraping :)

No more scraping? But something else may get seriously scraped!

Interesting. How does braking work after your mod? Seems to be a bit far away from the brake, right? Or did you modify that, too?

OK, I'm a weanie. I never get close to scraping: leaning that far is beyond my current comfort level.
I'd love to have a left hand brake lever. My 500cc scooter has one, and as as a long-time (bi)cyclist I'm very used to one. Am guessing Zero was trying to keep the "feel" of the bike as close to traditional ICE as possible (marketing).
BTW, my SR is very front heavy, which means most of my braking (not counting regen) is from the front brake. Question: when is it most useful to use the rear brake -- twisties/ emergency stop/ other ?

rear braking is useful when the front is already at max braking and you still may hit the wall...
Apart from emergency, soft braking can be balanced between both wheels at your discretion. It's more a matter of which tyre you want to replace more often. Since the rear tyre is worn by acceleration and regen, it's a good balance to brake only front, except emergency of course.

You'd want to rear break when going very slow/maneuvering because it won't disturb the self balance of the bike so much that you literally fall where you are leaning. And in general you generate the most stopping power by simply applying both brakes (front brake does most of the work, rear brake adds a little). Since you have an ABS (2015+) you rear wheel won't lock.

I drag my boot and pegs on the nice twisty roads. The REFUEL all electric track day is coming up and I think this will be a issue.
I took of the feelers that hang down for more clearance, but that means that you are more likely to drag your boot.
Note that when you go over a bump, your peg clearance decreases. The SR has relatively longer travel exacerbating the situation and I like to keep my suspension on the soft side to use that travel on bumpy roads.

I don't think Zero mirrors any stock bikes for bolt-on rear sets. I think people are drilling and taping holes in there frame to add rear sets.
