Title: Rode the Zero S
Post by: skadamo on November 16, 2009, 10:22:10 PM
Yesterday Mike Mastrangelo, the Chicago Zero Rep drove 2 hours out the Forest City Riders Dualsport (more like enduro) ride in Leaf River, IL. Many thanks Mike, I was great to finally ride the S. I was so wrecked last night from the 56 miles of tight woods and logs I did not get a chance to write anything up yet. Honestly I am still processing the short test ride. So different than my DRZ400S or anything I have ridden.

The comments, looks and stares were priceless. Most of the guys were dead tired after the ride. I heard comments like “our future” from a few guys. Blank stares and double takes followed by “wow”. “it’s electric”. A few guys went on long emotional political rants. These bikes bring out some emotions in people and you can tell people want Zero to succeed.

“Give it 10 years” was a common saying too from people who did not ride it. Not sure why people say 10. After riding the Zero I would say much less. It’s not gonna keep up with a KTM 450XC or even a 250 in the corn fields but in the tight stuff it would hold it’s own. More soon. Amazing bike.
