Update (just to get it out of my system) on driving my "any nozzle fits car" my 100% biodiesel re-seller didn't have any to sell in 2016... turns out in 2015 I got sequential invoice numbers on my purchases... whereas 2014 I got about every eighth one. So as much as I'd like to only do soot and NOX...biodiesel is not the answer (also what I learned from Palm Oil plantation abuses). anyway....
Parked the cycle 11/30/2016 citing active snow accumulation and sub-20F temps (last two days had flurries on the way home) with 18,874 miles on the odometer.
I've tipped over 50% electric motorcycle commuting.
Annualized 2016 stats:
My commuting car averaged 11 miles per day.
My Zero averaged 18 miles per day.
I'm not hardcore 100% Zero, and I'm not touring the nation.

I am currently driving a car EVERYDAY since my last bike was destroyed by an angry cager...
BUT looks like I get to pick a bike at work and ride it home (perks of working at Zero 8)). I have about 35 miles to ride so not too far. Just trying to decide between an FX or FXS or S or SR or DS or DSR...

Nice. I've been riding 43 miles each way to work these days and I lane-split to achieve a decent commute time. I wouldn't want to do that even on my V-Strom, let alone a car (which I don't own).
Update: final 2016 mileage is 15,000 miles for the DSR, and 3,000 miles for the 2013 DS. And no car, but another 1,000 miles on my V-Strom 650.

Since I got my Zero three weeks ago I've driven a car once. Commute every day is 52km (30ish miles) of mixed riding, some highway at 110km/h.
Filter through the city, which is a dream on the S compared to the DR I had.
Costs me about 20% charge a day which I'm pretty happy with considering my S is bog standard.
I'm lucky here that the Brisbane climate lends itself to year round bike commuting, so I can't see myself going back to petrol. That in itself is a great feeling.

I am driving my car about 300 miles a year and my Zero 10 times that much. :)

In the past 2 years I put 14k miles on my electric car and 27k miles on my Zero. Many of those miles are cross country touring.

2016, round numbers:
4000 miles on Zero - traded 2012 in on 2014 SR
2500 miles on bicycles, pedal and ped-elec
2500 miles on gas motorcycle
500 miles on gas car (rental)
11000 miles in plane..

Much of Nashville is very bikeable. We have some amazing greenways that run along the river and many of the major roads in the city proper have bike lanes or are striped for full lane bike access.

There are definitely roads where it's dangerous to bike, but you can avoid them with a little planning.

Zero: 3,500 miles
Gas bike: 2,500 miles
Personal cars: 6,000 miles
Work car: 14,000 miles
Bicycles: 3,500-4,000 miles
Wow, that's around 30,000 miles on the road per year. I had no idea until I added it all up.

Proto. Thanks for the information, I drive through there on I24 about once a month. Not explored it much because I think I24 in Nashville may be the worst planned Interstate design in the upper Midwest to Southeast (not taking into consideration the driving skills of the ones on the road :-). Have you ever been to the Twin Cities. We have an awesome, probably the best in the US, bike route system.
