According to an article in the October issue of Motorcycle Consumer News, Corbin will be manufacturing their electric Sparrow, that they were selling during the 1990's. The article says that production stopped in 2003, but R&D continued. The new Sparrow will have technological improvements such as Li-ion batteries and a BMS that will result in longer battery life and vehicle range. It appears that the chassis will remain about the same as before.
"Corbin will create 100 hand-built Sparrows in 2017 in Hollister, Calif. The 100 Beta Sparrows will display an exclusive number, which will also be the individual VIN" ???
There was no mention of the vehicle's cost.

The new version has definitely been visible in factory visits this year... it does look like a really good vehicle for its class, and much improved on the original.

Mike led us out in his new Sparrow on our Vetter Challenge ride last year (July 4, 2015). He would have gone with us farther (the whole ride?) but he had a ton of customers that day and needed to get back to the shop. Even my sister-in-law loved it and was very interested in its price and availability. She has a scooter she commutes on occasionally but not very often, since she's one of those little tiny women who gets cold when it's 75 degrees out.

Ahead of its time when first conceived in the 90s, the Corbin Sparrow is back. The fully enclosed, electric, single-seat, three-wheel city commuter out of Hollister, California features bizarre golf ball dimpling all over the rear surfaces for superior aerodynamics. We spoke to Mike Corbin about his modest ambitions for this remarkable little car.
