Title: 2015 SR Charge Tank requires dealer install?
Post by: eswimm on September 08, 2016, 10:13:59 PM
Does anyone know if the Charge Tank installation for a 2015 SR is really a dealer only install or are there instructions available for me to install it myself?  I'd prefer not to pay dealer labor rates if it's a relatively straight forward install.

Thanks.

Installing the Charge Tank from various accounts is not straightforward at all, even for a dealer. In any case, instructions are not available and I'm sure that Zero could easily ignore your warrantee if you bricked your bike trying.

My dealer did not charge me to install the charge tank.  It appears the install cost is included in the price of the unit.  And yes it appears difficult to install and involves connecting with Zero's computer to make sure it is operating properly.  Cheers!

Congrats!

"connecting with Zero's computer", eh? Do you suppose that's onsite or online?

That's great info, thank you.  I was expecting some 6-8 hour install from the BMW/Zero dealer.

I'll check and see if install is included in the price.
