I was going to wait until the project was finished but I just had to throw up some photos of the progress.  The list or modifications is pretty substantial so please ask anything and I will respond.  When it is complete I will put up a full list.

That looks interesting! Is the headlamp mount totally custom?

Also, what charger is under that J1772 inlet? :)

The Headlamp housing and the display mount are completely custom fabrications.  The charger is the Zero Powertank.  I didn't want the outlet in the top of the new "tank" so we decided to run it to the same side as the standard plug.

Getting all of the bare metal small parts powdercoated this week, new LED signals wired up, tail section is going to be matte black to match the frame and clear coat over the aluminum "tank".

I love the "tank". Makes it look more modern like a streetbike, instead of the "dirtbike radiator guards" look of the stock upper plastics.

I also like the tank but to me it looks more cafe racer....really the whole build looks cafe racer to me and I love it!

All the small parts cam back from powdercoat yesterday.....tank, fender, and fork guards should be in tomorrow and then the whole thing goes back together!

Hope to have a full update on the finished project by the weekend
