Title: I'll let you ride mine if you let me ride yours? (LA)
Post by: E-Luke on April 30, 2016, 12:24:14 PM
I just saw a couple of folks doing this in PacNW and figured I'd throw it out there?!

I have a brand spanking DSR (600miles) and loving it. But I'm planning to do a Yosemite road trip (1000 mile round trip) with two friends within the month. If anyone has a touring capable ice bike (BMW, triumph tiger or the like) laying around we could work out a bike swap?! 5 days I'll be gone. It could be the chance to test ride - properly - a DSR with your bike being lovingly taken care of through some beautiful countryside?!

Obviously all in writing regarding any mishaps and insurance protocols, but I figured this is a good place to throw that out there before I go straight to a rental place!!!

so tempting! i live overseas but just bought a bike in Oceanside, CA (45min south of LA). I haven't even ridden it yet but i used to own one (bmw 650 xchallenge, ideal light tourer). in actuality i don't think it will be ready in time (registration and re-title) to ride this month, but I would have considered your offer!

Maybe when I come thru WA we can swap for a bit if that is where you are at? I'm collecting the bike end of June, and riding the Continental Divide north to Banff, then down the west coast from Vancouver :)

have a look at horizonsunlimited.com and there is a 'bike swap' section there...surely someone would want to swap for a go on your DSR!

I'm going to be test riding a few Zero's when I'm over there, but I think they are just a little bit off the range I'm needing b4 I import one back home to NZ. I have a project custom ebike here that is range poor (about 50miles) but style rich

That sounds like a phenomenal trip!!!! Wow!

I'm an Aussie! Small world! Haha. But definitely get in touch when you're in town - I live around the corner from Hollywood Electrics. They're great guys and will put you on everything, and you can take mine on a ride if hit the road for afternoon!

Any rate, good luck with the planning and I'll check that site out! Thanks for the tip!
