I didn't have my glasses handy at the time, but is the main analog indicator on the 2013 S a tach? (I just did a demo ride, following the tech on his bike, so I didn't pay attention to what the dial was doing).

Yes, it's a tachometer.

On the 2012s this was a speedometer. They just swapped the backing label, since on a direct wheel RPM and motor RPM are directly linked :)

I was wondering about that - whether the speedometer was based on motor speed, or an actual wheel measurement. If it's based on motor RPM, then any gearing, wheel, or tire change will decrease speedometer accuracy.

So If I was digitally challenged, I guess I could put some numbered stickers on the face of the tach in order to get an analog speedo.

Most car speedos work off the gearbox output shaft, so any change of diff ratios or wheels size makes the speedo inaccurate.
Running off the motor RPM means you don't need a speedo cable/wires to the front (or back) wheel.

For 2013 S:
To recalibrate the speedo.
-Start up the bike and wait for the speedo to complete its self test.
-Hold down both the adjust and select buttons for 5 seconds until the display shows a 4 digit number followed by a 2 digit number.
-Scroll through the digits using the select button and change them using the adjust button.
As an example, to calibrate the speed if you are going from a 28 tooth pulley to a 25 tooth pulley, you will multiply the 4 digit number by 25/28 and enter that as the new value.
