Title: More delays in shipping the Zero S.
Post by: ultrarnr on August 18, 2009, 08:05:27 AM
After being told two weeks ago that my Zero S would be shipped this week I was told today that my new shipping date is December 15th. Multiple problems associated with the ramping up of production were given as the reason for the delay.

Kind of sad that Zero joined this forum and has not posted any updated info. It seems it only came here to say how safe its bikes are after the front end flex video.

Was listening to this episode of EVCast...

At 9:40:00 Ehab of Green Vehicles mentioned similar reasons for not delivering the TRIAC to production on time. He explained the initial volume rollout is very expensive: material and equipment costs, sales and marketing, product liability, etc.

He cited the recession and lack of willing buyers making the costs of ramping up production not make sense.

Some of these concerns may be part of Zero's logic to push the delivery date to December.

I think the Vectrix bankruptcy spooked a few people. Just speculating of course.

TRIAC has been in trouble for some time. He hasnt even shipped ONE yet. over 1 year after the first ones "are on the boat"
