Title: 2015 DS Engine shocks after 'cold start'
Post by: Lecram on December 13, 2015, 01:07:47 AM
When I turn on the bike after a few hours standstill and I ride away, the engine shocks a few times like it turns on and off. After a few meters, the shocks disappear and I can ride normal without a shocking engine.

Does anyone else had this experience? What can this be?

It's solved. The belt was too tight.

Glad to hear that you have it figured out but...maybe just a language thing but I am totally lost at to what a 'shocking engine' could mean on an electric motorcycle other than giving you an electrical shock when you touch the motor. (It has no engine.)
What are you speaking of?

think he means mechanical shock as in impact, jolt, jerk, thump. maybe like a snatchy chain that has tight and loose parts that gives jerky ride.

Thank you. That makes sense.

Sorry for my poor english ;) I meant, the engine turned on and off repeatedly. Sometimes, it stopped for a few seconds and I heard the contactor ticking. Once I was riding, it worked normal, also after a short stop at traffic lights or so.

My new Zero FX had that after a few days of owning it. They installed a new motor. I still have to try it should pick it up again soon.

I had the exact same thing (2015 SR).

After it had been at the dealers for a "commissioning" it stopped.

For those who do not understand what is meant here, it is as if the injection of the gas (in an ICE bike) does not work properly and the engine gets gas intermittently.

The thing that I do not understand is why it only happens after a reboot (cold start) for a few meters and then it disappears until the next cold start.
