Title: More concept electric motorcycles
Post by: Richard230 on October 18, 2015, 06:37:21 AM: It appears to be very easy to dream up interesting and innovate electric motorcycle concepts, now all they have to do is actually build production bikes and sell them to the public. That seems to be the hard part. Here are some of the latest:

I know. I am getting the same thing. It was working yesterday, but not today. Maybe JP will send out another "newsletter" next week and I will be able to find those articles again. :(

I just tried going to his home site and got the error message, too. So I guess something is broken. The most interesting item to me in his articles was that the Yamaha concept electric motorcycle is back, this time with two wheel drive. The front wheel is sporting a hub motor. No idea if it will ever be built, though. ???

The Honda is the only one of that bunch I'd even consider.

Zero has been careful to make their motorcycles look like, well, motorcycles. So they sell.

I think that the EV-Cub could sell well for Honda, since it seems that many commuters want economical and reliable transportation, and this design looks unintimidating and confidence building; not really for motorcycle enthusiasts, but for the masses who would try an electric moto or scoot for commuting.

The BMW EV motorcycles seen to be more fantasy than reality with all of the empty space in the rendering.

Hopefully more concept designs can be developed into real concept cycles (like the HD Project LiveWire) whereby some could make it to production. :)

I might add that I have a remote-control two-wheel (no training wheels) toy motorcycle that I bought over 15 years ago. It is stabilized by a gyroscope and worked great before I got tired of playing with it and stuffed it in my closet. It is still there, but I am afraid to give it another try. I have no doubt that the rechargeable battery is likely just a brick by now. And besides, my ability to still balance and operate a remote-control motorcycle is likely not what it used to be. ::)

It will not get tired and could be programmed to simulate certain situations repetitively.
