Hi all
looking at a roadtrip of about 450km each way (about 300miles or so). I can spread over one long day or two days with an overnight stop.
I do not have the additional tank on my standard 2014S 11.4 and am considering to utilise two chargers instead. The most common outlets in Oz are 240V / 10A which should allow me to run onboard plus second charger.
Would consider a more DIY approach to the charger (one..) but tight for time hence going with the standard Zero solution. Trip is April 10! Therefore trying to source charger / Y Connector quickly. Anyone having one for sale? Or any alternative, easy to set up ideas?

I did a 200 mile ride in one day on my 2012 S ZF9. I had three off board chargers which plugged into a J1772 charger, along with the onboard charger for a total of about 4 kW.
It was a long, long ride. I started early in the morning and arrived late at night. I stopped five (six?) times to charge - charging twice a long as riding (e.g. one hour riding, two hours charging).
I had fun though.
I bought one of the chargers and a Y-adapter from Zero and the other two chargers and the other Y-adapter used (from Terry Hershner). (They only work on the older bikes).
With the 11kWh bike you should be able to ride longer between charges (60 or 70 miles vs. 40). With one off board charger added it will take you about 4 hours to charge. So a 300 mile ride will take about 16 hours. (Three charges, plus 4 hours of riding).
Just an estimate, but based on experience ;-)

If you have some skill and time you can build your own very fast 1-2h charger for your Zero.
Trip of 850 to 2000km in a weekend are possible with such solution.
With this charger my average combined speed is 50km/h equivalent ( the speed that include charging and driving) so 1000km take 20h total

This cahrger is made of the top quality power supply (1200$ total+200$ for the J1772 DIY adapter)
but it is possible to build a 6kW cahger from two 75$ ESP-120 server power supply. each deliver 3000W. A friend of mine is working on one as i suggested him to buy these psu. he will do the rest of the job.

great feedback. thx. to clarify - I ride back a few days later. so not a hectic round trip. just need to making the one way over two days is my goal. Fast chargers etc. - not existent to my knowledge - this is Australia. Time till trip starts - not long and no time to set up stuff. Trying to get just a second fast charger which installs easily, a windshield and then ride - stay low I guess. stop, charge, eat and sleep - and enjoy.

Update. Check the route for charging stations. No J1772 or chademo or so at all available. Mostly 240V / 10A or 15A at RV parks.
240/10 should allow ne to run 2 chargers. Based on that have ordered the standard quick charger. Now need to wrk out where to put it.
Options I am considerung:
- Simply on back with luggage
- on top of battery instead of tank bag - will it fit?
- on left hand side of battery - needs quite a bracket and bike is put of balance?
Or any other options?

Just call Hollywood Electrics and get it shipped ASAP! They are the Zero aftermarket go to spot and they sell faster chargers to most Zero owners. Australia too.
