Title: Electric Vehicle Design
Post by: Megawatt on March 08, 2015, 08:03:43 AM
I was reading "How to build your own electric vehicle" by Seth Leitman in which he includes some math about how to go about finding out the horsepower and such needed according to your performance needs, weight, air resistance, etc. I wrote up these equations (and a few of my own) in an Open Office spreadsheet. Hope this helps someone! Let me know if you have questions, spot errors, or have any improvements I might be able to make.

Happy hunting

Here is another forum that you might also want to visit to ask you "home build" questions:  http://www.elmoto.net/ (http://www.elmoto.net/)

Anybody else have trouble with the spreadsheet? I downloaded it, and it's all values, no equations.

<edit> I used Excel to open the document, and apparently equations don't carry over when you do that. I've saved it in Excel format, so others using proprietary software can use it, too. All credit goes to Megawatt.
