Hi everybody!
I'm really looking into ZERO S motorcycles, and i think i'm about to go for it in a very next futur.
I can have a yellow 2013 S 11.4 with 8000km for about 10000€ (maybe a little less if i can negociate nicely), or a 2014 S 11.4 with 1500km for about 11500€ (maybe a little less too).
What would you recommand? I know a lot of things are the same, but i really do prefer the kilometric counter on the 2014 and the custom button seems better too. I know it's not a big difference between this two bikes, so do you think it is worth spending 2000€ more? I also think maybe a 2014 will keep a better price the day i want to sell it.
Thanks in advance

I would go with the 2014 because: it has a much better and more informative instrument display; it has better and stronger (front) suspension; the front Nissin brake caliper is a name brand that should allow you to obtain replacement brake pads easier; and a newer year is always worth a couple of thousand more come resale or trade-in time. :)

the 2014 is better front suspension is better.
the 2013 you have to be carefull, it as to be fraware update
on mie 2013 the motor have been change because the encoder fail
-
2014 also has the longer battery warranty.
On the other hand, maybe you can use these things to negotiate down the 2013 price.
The mileage is not a concern on either bike.
-
Thanks everybody.
I don't think the guy selling the 2013 will put the price down a lot, so i'm thinking i should go for the 2014.
Need to sell my actual bike first, then goooo!

Hey guys, when i tried the zero S just after Christmas, the road was wet and so was my back after the ride!
Does a protection of this kind exists for the S?
I dont really want the license plate here, just a water protection as i will drive everyday and the sun does not always shoes up!
-
Only if you retrofit something yourself... ;)
-
No. Even if you put something in the fender hole, the fender itself is still too narrow to stop the water. :-(
However, what bike is that pic from? Maybe it could be adapted?
-
I think it is from a kawasaki, a z something. But there are different models for different bikes.
-
The top case mounting bracket is sufficient to stop the spray/debris from the back wheel. At least for me on the DS.
-
In my opinion, the Zero's rear hugger could do with being longer, to reduce spray from the tire over the shock and rear electronics of the battery.
Its something I'm looking into making for my bike.

Not for me on the SR. I have a top rack & plate, plus a plastic sheet in the fender hole, and I still got a sand stripe on the back of my 'stich, and sand collecting on the back of the seat. It was *very* rainy the other week.
-
I'll have to figure something out when i get it, because i ride everyday.
Can anyone give me the full size of the bike (approxymatly)? I need it for a transportation cotation and on Zero website,it is only the size from ground contact wheel to wheel.
Thanks!

55.5" wheelbase, approximately 80" front to back.

Thanks a lot ;)

Do you think it could be interesting to buy this bike?

Would it be easy for a Zero dealer to restore it? Or would it be a lot of work and risks for nothing?
-
Dunno about restoring to running order, but if it was in the UK, I'd be buying it for parts...

Hard to tell for sure from the photos, but I only see plastics and headlight assembly damage (< $1000 to repair). Big question would be the condition of the battery - how long has that 2013 S been parked without being plugged in?
The asking price is very low if the battery, motor, and motor controller are in working condition.
-
for the price it is interresting
I change the fourck, it you want a new one i can sell you
do not hesitate to call me il you want more information 06 86 49 07 30

Thanks François, i take good notice of that.
Protomech : the fork seems dead no? And the plastic of the tanker too, but that is not the mose expensive, like you say. I think it has not been here for a long time because i check internet everyday for used Zero's and it just came in (but maybe the seller did not show it before).
Well, i have to think about it because i am not a mecanicien.
-
be quick, because i will by for myself at the end of the month ;)

Ed on here looked at this bike
Has a ton of com errors surprised it keys on honestly, but then again I'm lucky as fuck I jumped on my bike ride rode it up my driveway when I shattered my ankle; it had the contactor broken and it still worked, split in two
Personally I thought it was a high price, need frame wheels wiring harness, pinched on the bottom bikes left side Possiable pinching main harness, my guess from the codes it threw.
Hope guy was ok!

I'm still thinking about getting a Zero, even if i also still be a little scared not having a dealer in my city. So, one day i think "no, it's to risky, keep the BMW" and the next i think "wow, a good price in one of the french dealers (10000€ for a 2014 DS new, and 11400€ for a 2014 SR new!) , go for it, sell the BMW!".
I'm trapped in my own mind and fears :(
F**k.
