According to this article, Congress has failed to renew the tax rebate for electric motorcycles purchased this year, possibly due to some sort of internal political payback. >:(

Well, the bill hasn't been passed yet, so maybe things will change. ::) But I wouldn't bet on it and I am not going to be spending my $2,000 rebate on a Christmas present for myself. :( The Congressional Grinch may have stole Christmas. :o

I'm not spending it on anything; but electric motorcycles if I do.
I havnt ever done it, wonder how much you can actually get off/back
Should have last year; more so wondering if I do one of my bikes this year do I have to do both bikes or can I wait till next year for the next. If this bill passes obviously no, what if it doesn't am I only eligible for 1 year from purchase

The rebate is 10% of your purchase price. You take the money right off of your income tax return payment, upon filing the correct IRS form. If the rebate provision is passed again this year, any electric motorcycle you purchased and licensed this year would be eligible for the "rebate". The maximum amount you can claim is $2,500 on an electric motorcycle. I think it is $7,500 if you bought something with four wheels.
If this doesn't go through, there are going to be a lot of unhappy customers, as I believe most dealers and websites have claimed that you would be able to file for the rebate this year and that would help to offset the cost of your bike.
