Enthusiasts attending AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days, America's grandest celebration of motorcycle heritage, will get the first glimpse into motorcycling's future this July 24-26 at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio, with a special presentation of the AMA eGrandPrix Introduction.
Showcasing the cutting-edge technology of electric road-race motorcycles alongside the grandeur of the country's premier gathering of vintage motorcycle enthusiasts, the AMA eGrandPrix Introduction will feature new-breed zero-emission racebikes circulating at speed on the sinuous 2.4-mile Mid-Ohio track. The electric bikes will perform spirited exhibition laps during breaks in the vintage road-race program that will run as part of the AMA Racing Vintage Grand Championships. The Introduction marks the first international gathering of high-tech electric road-race bikes in the U.S. in the 21st century.

EnvironMoto already plans on being there. Skadamo or anyone else going?
-
Yes sir, I am in. Just need to find a good place to stay with the wife who could care less about bikes and 2 young ones. Think shopping and kiddy pool :D
We will have to meet up and chat for sure...
-
Thanks so much for the kind words on the Welcome thread!
We will be there. My wife rides and we ride track days together so I am fortunate it isn't a stretch for us and she is down with moto trips.
Not sure if you have been there before or not... Other than the track, there isn't a lot in that area until you get toward the north side of Columbus. Plenty to do in Dublin and Hilliard areas.

This will be my first time.

Great to know, thanks!

I'm trying to go with the admin of elmoto.net
working on the details with Azhar....
-
well, I'll be there.... working out a flight/room/board now.
-
frodus,
If you have a connection with Azhar, might I suggest seeing if there is interest in an informal gathering/meet and greet of all those involved in the eGrandPrix (i.e. electric moto teams, racers, reporters, forum admins, bloggers, coordinators, etc.). Either way, I would like to meet those who contribute to the forum.
I would like to suggest Bucks on either Thursday or Friday night. http://www.bucksbarandgrill.net/ (http://www.bucksbarandgrill.net/) They even have mini-golf!
Anyone have interest?
-
Anyone have interest?
Yes, I would be very interested in that. ;D
-
Yes, I'm fairly close in contact with Azhar... I'm gonna try and see what he expects of me, and try to get elmoto and EMF some question and answer time. The admin for elmoto will be there as well. My goal is to interview some of the racers and teams and some of the people at the event.... we really need to work hard on promoting the event before though... the promotion done after the event will be good, but we want to let people know that the motorcycles will be there.
Working on getting the media pack today.
-
Even if there is nothing official with eGrandPrix, all of us electric motorcycle media guys should all get together anyhow.
If Azhar or any of the competitors are down, I think this would be a great way to touch base with everyone in the scene. Good PR for everyone involved!
I will do anything I can to help promote the event. I'm going to apply for the media pass as well. We'll see what happens...
-
I'll talk to Azhar about a media pass, but I think he's trying to get the word out.... we need some more motorcycles there though, so if you know anyone, please let them know.

WOW, this is great. I met quite a few people here yesterday. There's 9 bikes here....will get more info and details/specs/websites tomorrow. Got here to late today.
Went out with almost all of the guys....we spent about 2 hours bullshitting about electric motorcycles, it was great. It was great having a group like that together.
Got some great pictures, hope to be able to post tomorrow. I didn't get in today until late, then picked up David.
