Title: Illinois Governor Pledges $1M to Make Route 66 Electric Vehicle Friendly
Post by: CrashCash on December 04, 2014, 04:18:17 AM
It looks like they're going to add at least 8 charging stations, including CHAdeMO and Level 2 boxes. It's supposed to be finished by the summer.

That sounds like a great idea.  Route 66 would be a perfect route to ride an EV on, especially as most of the gas stations along the highway have closed down due to lack of vehicles passing by.  Slow and steady, just riding along and enjoying the peace and quiet and the ambiance of the old highway.  Maybe it will bring some life back to the old road.  I hope it all works out and the charging stations don't gather dust.
