Title: HD's answer to range anxiety
Post by: AustinSZF8.5 on October 23, 2014, 10:17:15 PM
Oooohhhh.... So THAT'S how they're dealing with range anxiety... Whole new meaning to the term "trailer in, ride out..."

Interestingly, in this part of the promo clip, they dubbed in IC engine noise.

The trailer is overlayed with music and a low not happens to play at the same time the bike hits the ground, which may sound like an ICE sound.  But I'm pretty sure it's just music.

However, once the film comes out it will be interesting if they overlay ICE engine noise or keep it as a stealth bike.

Must be a couple of versions of the trailer. The one I saw had a very distinctive (dopplered) whirr sound dubbed in, not like any ICE engine.

Chances are in the film, they'll use a dubbed in synthetic sci-fi sound for the Livewire, because it'll make the bike look even more high tech than it already is.
I'm much more curious as to if they'll refer to it as an electric bike in the film, as thats the more important thing in my option.

I watched it again (and again) and heard it this time.  There is a low note that is played, but milliseconds afterward I heard the "engine" noise.

That sucks.

...but isn't surprising at all.  Especially considering Capital One made a commercial with an Empulse and added "engine" noise.

That's because producers are strange beasts with "odd" ideas, I've worked with such people in the past.
I've actually had one say to me "If it looks right, its right, even if its wrong."... infuriating at times.
