Title: Articles about the 2015 Zero lineup
Post by: benswing on September 30, 2014, 05:29:54 PM
Here is an article about the 2015 lineup!

http://www.greencarreports.com/news/1094661_2015-zero-electric-motorcycles-get-more-range-abs-tire-suspension-upgrades (http://www.greencarreports.com/news/1094661_2015-zero-electric-motorcycles-get-more-range-abs-tire-suspension-upgrades)

Zero just keeps getting better!  I think they made some important improvements to the manufacturing process and internal design of the bikes.

Great article Ben!

Here's another I just saw with embedded videos at the end of the 2015 models tearing it up!

Why does the greencarreports article give the SR's 0-60 time as 4.4 seconds? There's no reason for it to be that much slower than the 2014, is there? Typo, confusion between the S and SR? Something's not right.

Will fix that right away, thanks for pointing it out.  Just hit the wrong key instead of typing 3.3 seconds.

Other articles are also appearing in mainstream and motorcycle news sources.  Looks like very good coverage!

Ah, I didn't realize you wrote it, Ben. Nice work other than one typo!

Now how the hell am I supposed to get any work done today, reading all this ink?? Thank god my boss is on the road today. It's an embarrassment of riches, really!

Thank you!

(By the way, the typo is fixed.)

Yes, all the coverage is very exciting.  I don't think the 2014 lineup was this well covered last year, so there is good progress in that area.

I am getting information overload today.   :o  Especially with all of the other new product announcements coming out of Intermot - such as Kawasaki's new 300hp supercharged motorcycle.   :o  It will be interesting to see if Zero's product announcement can make its way past all of the other new products coming out of the Intermot show.  It is going to be quite a year for motorcycle customers next year.

Still nothing about Brammo, though.   ???

If Brammo doesn't step up to the plate with new models for next year, Zero may have the electric motorcycle market almost all to itself, considering that they have an established dealer and distribution network and a well-vetted and refined product.

Can someone tell me what's happened to the fake tank? Is is still a zippered compartment or a waterproof lockable cover?

Nice article Ben.

The new 2015 Zeros look refined and the move to Showa was wise, short and long term for Zero.

The 2015s offer more value with only a slight price bump and more motorcycle in a lot of ways.

If you watch the videos of the FX and DS the improved suspension performs much better than last year's bikes.  It is obviously better at keeping the rubber on the ground through the rough stuff.

Too bad the FX10 with Integrated CHAdeMo and Level2 charging is not available for 2015.  I will wait another year or 2 for that model to break cover and keep saving my pennies.

Good question.  I haven't heard a peep about the fake tank and if it still is a luggage carrier.  None of the photos or press information that I have seen can answer that question.   ???

Looks like it's a rubber cover. Not clear if it is meant to open.

Yes, the tank bag is still present.

I went over to Intermot to see them myself and they look great! I opened one of the tank storage compartments so yes I can confirm it is still there.
My only recommendation for Zero is to get a bit wider tyre on the S and SR. For cosmetic reasons only of course...

I took quite a few pictures with unfortunately a crappy camera but maybe it provides some more details.

My trip to Intermot was all electric with the first bit on my Brammo and the rest with a high speed train.
