Title: Rain rain rain

Lots of rain here in Europe, this is not a serious problem but I had an irritating issue with Zero S 2014:
Having a top case, the water splashed through the gap of numberplate arm holder, hits the bottom of the case, hits the backseat and flows into your trousers. ;->

Anybody brew a homemade solution to this? I'm thinking of closing that gap with a piece of plastic somehow.

Post by: vfkf on August 31, 2014, 02:43:01 AM: I did close the gab with a piece of rubber from a bicycle tire tube, first day I drove in the rain.

The tail split in top and bottom halves and you can squeeze the rubber in between while reassembling the two halves.
I have no top case but no more mud splash on myself.

I don't feel like the gap is a problem, but it would be nice to stop the issue with a better rear wheel hugger. I live in Seattle, so I deal with rain for half the year, and gravel and mud in alleyways.

There's a few things I want to try (and will post pictures of what works later), but I'm sure others have come up with really good ideas.

Store it indoors mostly, or at least under cover. My bike is dealing well in Seattle coming into its second winter where I ride year-round. I am getting my tires changed finally at 10,000 miles over to a Metzler Tourance set. And I'm changing out the brake pads for hopefully some more bite and less of the occasional squeal.

Honestly, I deal more with traction and stopping issues in the wet and cold than anything else.
