I also thought that they didn't do a very good job commenting on the Brammo Empulse. I have ridden one and it is a much better bike than they make it seem from their short review. As an example, the one I rode shifted very smoothly up and down the gears and that was without using the clutch. I also noticed no lurching when starting from a stop.

I agree with her on the Brammo. The chain lash really bothered me and I just didn't like the transmission. Partly because I think gears on an electric bike is silly (to be polite). A Brammo rider showed me how to take care of the chain lash by rolling back a few inches upon takeoff, but it still wasn't ideal.
