Title: ... and here's all the parts you won't need
Post by: Gregski on June 01, 2009, 12:43:29 PM
recently we have stripped a motorcycle and took pictures and weighed the parts that came off of it, you may have seen something similar before but here's a look at what came off of the 1989 Suzuki Katana GSX600F and what it weighed

Interesting.  Did you mention how much the parts removed weigh?  How long did it take to rip all that out?

Yes, I weighed every part and if you follow the link I also kept a running total.  The two of us stripped the bike in about 2 hours.  It was so much fun.  We lowered the motor out of the frame using a motorcycle lift, and then lifted the front end of the bike over it and to the side.

did a similar thing with my kr1, removed bout 45kgs worth, taking it down to 85kg. Expansion chambers and cans were almost as heavy as the engine was!!!
